Carrier Community, an exclusive global industry-networking platform for wholesale telecom service providers successfully hosted its 3rd annual CC-GLOBAL AWARDS. More than 100 guests attended the exclusive event with 24 winning companies celebrating their achievements. The CC-Global Awards were presented at the Central and Eastern Europe ( CEE )2019 GCCM on May 14th 2019 at BESL Meistersaal Berlin.

The awards recognized innovations and achievements among telecom wholesale operators and ecosystem partners around the globe and were independently judged by a panel of 13 telecoms analysts and experts from the industry.

Isabelle Paradis – Lead Jury

President and Founder at HOT TELECOM

Biography

Isabelle is President and Founder of HOT TELECOM, one of the most innovative and creative telecom research and consulting companies in the industry. HOT TELECOM has been supporting operators, regulators and investors on a global basis for over 14 years, more particularly on the subjects of International and wholesale. More recently, Isabelle has been working with many of the world's global wholesalers and service providers to help them define their transformation strategy. She has published a number of articles and reports on the subject and has spoken at numerous conferences to share her views on the future of the wholesale business. Isabelle holds a Bachelor degree in Engineering, an MBA in Finance and has over 20 years working globally.

Erik Van Stokkom

Director at VSC

Biography

Based in Switzerland, VSC provides strategic advisory services in M&A, Business Development & Media for the telecommunication industry. Over the last 20 years, Erik developed extensive expertise and deep domain knowledge working at major telecom companies. His international career includes senior & executive level positions. Over the years, Erik has been a regular speaker & moderator at major international telecom conferences.

Andreas Hipp

CEO at Cataleya

Biography

Andreas was the Founder and Group CEO of Epsilon Global Communications, which includes Epsilon service provider and Cataleya technology businesses. He is now continuing to supporting the industry’s evolution through his start-up and investment facilitator (Incipio) and his position on the board of Cirrus Core Networks. During his 18 years in the global telecoms community he has contributed to the evolution of the international markets and technologies, creating innovative businesses, and disruptive business models.

Ilija Reymond

Founder and Managing Partner at mgi management group AG. Switzerland

Biography

Mr. Raymond has over 20 years of experience in the international telecommunications industry. From 1997 to 2001, he has managed sales and marketing groups for several affiliates of Redcube. Prior to founding mgi, he held the position as a Director Marketing & Sales with Carrier1 International Carrier Services. Mr. Reymond studied Political Science at the University of Zurich. He is a citizen of Switzerland.

José A. García

Managing Director - Owner at GTC

Biography

Mr. José García is an expert in in wholesale voice and SMS messaging with over 18 years’ experience in the telecom industry. As former VP of Sales & Carrier Relations at tyntec, one of the largest A2P SMS service providers globally, José gained a deep industry expertise developing profitable SMS business across the globe. During his 10 years at Verizon he headed up a European team responsible for international voice services. Previously, he managed the operator department of mobile payments business in Central and Southern Europe for Netsize, a Gemalto company focussed on. José holds a Spanish citizenship, is based in Munich and studied Business Administration in Frankfurt.

Wida Schmidt

CEO at Carrier Community

Biography

Wida Schmidt has spent over 18 professional years in the telecommunications industry holding various management positions within the industry. She is a graduated MBA from Bradford University. Since 2008, she is co-Founder and CEO of the Carrier Community – a global branding and networking telco club for the wholesale service providers and telco eco partners.

Wangeci Kanjama

Head of Wholesale at Safaricom

Biography

Ms. Wangeci Kanjama serves as the Head of Wholesale at Safaricom where she is in charge of the international voice business, Roaming Services, IP & capacity & wholesale infrastructure services. She has a wealth of experience in the telecommunication industry spanning over 15 years with great passion for regional connectivity.

Florence Sébastien

CEO at FSE CONSULTING

Biography

Based in Paris, France, Florence is an experienced New Business Development Professional and Relationship Broker with deep expertise in the telecommunication industry. After a Master in International Trade (Paris II), she joined Telecom Italia during 10 years. She founded FSE Consulting 8 years ago to help companies to build market positions by locating, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing impactful business relationships. Identify and interpret market trends, as well as track individual contributors and their accomplishments to seek business deals. Contact potential partners, discover and explore opportunities to help companies to close new business. Develop negotiating strategies and positions by studying integration of new venture with company strategies and operations, examining risks and opportunities, and estimating partners' needs and goals.

Miguel Lopes

VP Product Line Management at Dialogic

Biography

Miguel started in 1999 as a developer and in 2002 he co-founded an MSP in West Africa. In 2007 he also co-founded what would be the first Wi-Fi ISP in Cape Verde. Five years later, Miguel accepted the invitation from Ezelink Telecom in Dubai, to revolutionize the company strategy in the Intelligent Hotspot, IoT and Smart City solutions as Director of Technology. Afterwards, since 2015, Miguel has been working in Silicon Valley and been involved in several projects to help Service Providers monetize their voice business. Currently, he is Vice President of Product Line Management for Applications at Dialogic.

Sophie Terrisse

Biography

Entrepreneurial marketer with track record of branding and developing high-growth technology companies. Act as Brand, Marketing and/or Development Officer across missions. Work with startups and F100s to solve complex brand transformation, drive sales enablement, fuel culture and performance, manage M&As, integration, consolidation and turnaround challenges. James Williams

Biography

James Williams is the Founder and CEO of MrConnectivity, a consultancy practice having Mobile Engagement as its principal focus; A2P SMS is a core competence within that. Clients include Mobile Network Operators (MNOs), content Aggregators, API companies, Messaging Hubs and technology vendors. James founded MrConnectivity four years ago, leveraging 20 years’ Telecommunications experience. A large part of the past five years has been spent guiding MNOs globally in securing their A2P SMS channels, effectively monetising all traffic and helping them develop comprehensive Mobile Engagement strategies and multi-channel product suites that can be used by their Enterprise clients (Inbound and Outbound). Technology alone is not the ‘silver bullet’ and a holistic approach is required. Companies just need to bring their brand and MrConnectivity can deal with the rest.

Nick Lane

Chief Insight Analyst at Mobilesquared

Biography

Nick is Chief Insight Analyst and Founder at mobilesquared, and specialises in all aspects of the mobile and telecommunications industries, including; messaging and OTT, unified communications, mpayments, the enterprise, mobile marketing and advertising, premium rate services, automated platforms, mobile internet and social media, apps and content, as well as networks and technology. Nick oversees all aspects of client projects; research, analysis, data modellling, and creative output, to drive awareness of clients' brands through white papers or reports, or provide our clients with market positioning and competitor analysis to support company expansion and product launches, as well as Mobilesquared’s own reports, including Global A2P SMS forecasts, 2015-2020. Nick speaks at conferences around the world, and is a judge for the Global Mobile Awards, the MEFFYS and the EMMAs. In his time as an analyst, Nick has written strategic industry reports on all of the subjects listed above.

Reuma Halal-Shibi

Reuma Halal-Shibi has over 12 years of experience in telecoms. She has worked for and with major telecom companies all around the world. Reuma held senior positions in both Voice and Data wholesale and she has vast knowledge in the industry's trends and solutions. Reuma holds a BA in Economics and Management. She is a former IDF Lieutenant and in parallel to her Lieutenant duties also held a commanding HR role and was a Liaison Officer for the United Nations. She is also a proud mother of two children and speaks 3 languages.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The entry form must be completed online at the Carrier Community Award Portal. The number of submissions is limited to 10 categories per Company. Only fully completed online submission must be sent by 31st March 2019 and be accompanied by a jpeg logo, high-resolution print format logo (preferably eps) and the supportive material.
All entrant companies have the opportunity to purchase seats at the CC-Global Awards during the CEE 2019 GCCM in Berlin. For further information on table costs please contact: [email protected]
Supporting evidence or documents must be included within the entry form (such as pictures, graphs). Please ensure any supporting evidence is relevant.
It is essential that we can contact you easily with questions regarding your entry, or judging inquiries and requests for further information. Therefore, please provide us with an awards liaison representative who can take these inquiries. You must provide their full contact details on the entry form.
Up to 5 companies will be shortlisted in each category and the shortlists will be published by the end of April 2019. The winners will be announced during the CC-Global Awards event at CEE 2019 GCCM in Berlin.
Dress Code: Ladies in white, beige, black or red and Gentlemen in black suite, white or black shirt and black tie
All shortlisted companies profile and logo will be included in all event relevant publications and mail shots. All shortlisted companies can Only purchase seats in the Premium Lounge and a minimum of 2 seats at EUR 390 + VAT per seat to represent them at the Awards Ceremony to potentially collect their Award. Entrants unable to commit to attendance at the Awards Ceremony will not be included in the Final Shortlist.
All non-shortlisted companies and CEE GCCM/ Digital Cloud Summit and SMS Messaging Summit registered delegates have access to the CC Global Awards Ceremony and Basic Lounge Only (a chair or standing slot subject to RSVP early response with a drink included). Limited places subject to availability at the time of booking.
To book a Premium Lounge at the Awards Ceremony with additional services and features, the price per seat to book is EUR 390 + VAT.

Jury members applying for any categories will be abstained from judging that category.
