Born and raised in Mexico City, Emilio moved to Europe in 1999 where he has taken part in the development of leading telecommunication players in the Americas, Europe, Middle East and Africa. In the last 23 years, Emilio has acquired technical, commercial and leadership expertise in major entrepreneurial projects and with established operators. Always evolving in multicultural environments, Emilio has developed strategic alliances in highly technological markets by leading investments, international projects and widespread multidisciplinary teams. Within China Mobile International, Emilio leads today a multi-national Carrier Sales team covering Southern Europe in the Voice, Data, Mobile and IoT fields.
A commercially experienced, business focused and innovative technologist, skilled at leading large, multi-national, multi-location teams to design, build, restructure, or manage complex technology operations in order to improve and service businesses. Track record as global CIO, leader and builder of technology based businesses. Board level executive experience, managing budgets in excess of £100m and implementing large global change programs, mergers and acquisitions. International experience gained across Europe, USA, Asia and Africa, with particularly strong recent exposure in Africa.
Marco works as Regional Director for DE-CIX and is responsible for Middle East and South Asia. His current focus is on developing UAE-IX as the first 100 percent neutral IXP in the Middle East and help to develop DE-CIX in India.
Coming from a software development background, Marco founded HAPPYsoft, a software development company, in 1992, and HAPPYnet, one of the first ISPs in Austria, in 1995. In 2003, Marco founded i3b and from that time on he focused on the field of telecom wholesale. After driving forward i3b’s internationalization as wholesale partner for last mile and MPLS connections and finally selling IP transit, the company was sold to its biggest wholesale customer (2010) and ever since Marco worked as independent consultant in the telecom industry in the field of Internet Exchanges and Digital Hub Development.
Naveen currently works as the Director for Wholesale business focusing on the MENA region for Tawasul Telecom (Subsidiary of Kalaam Telecom). He has been part of the global telecommunications industry for the last 15 years based out of Bahrain.
His current role includes heading the Global Presales and Procurement as well. He has been working with the Kalaam Telecom group for over 12 years and was part of the inorganic growth of the group focusing on three acquisitions during the last 4 years.
He has played an instrumental role in the launch of Kalaam’s 100% owned cable infrastructure asset – Kalaam Network Optical Transit ( KNOT).
