Carrier Community (CC) organized its 12th annual global carrier community meetings (GCCM) on the 10th and 11th of February 2020 in London at the centrally located Etc.Venues, 133 Houndsditch.
A flagship event, attracting more than 900+ Club Members representing decision-makers from 350+ Tier-1, Tier-2, and Tier-3 operators globally met to network during the two day gathering. The EUROPE 2020 GCCM empowers partners to utilize the GCCM platform including evening networking receptions to meet, network with peers, explore new business opportunities, discuss latest market trends at the knowledge sharing panel sessions and showcase their latest products and solutions.
During the GCCM in London, CC convened Telco members and Telco Ecosystem Partners from segments such as Data, Voice, SMS Messaging, Mobile, OTT/ Content Providers, VAS, Enterprise, Satellite, ISP, Data Centers and other related segments.
CC used the event to bridge relations between members (predominantly from the wholesale telco service providers arena) and MVNO, Audio Text, Digital Cloud and Submarine operators. To facilitate this CC offered parallel executive panel and knowledge sharing sessions at Europe 2020 GCCM to enable attendees to meet, share knowledge, network and explore and close deals.

Mr. Shabir Ali Murtaza is an ICT professional with deep knowledge and expertise in ICT operational frameworks development, operational processes assessment, reengineering, digitization, data analytics and producing AI algorithms. He has a vast experience of 16+ years working for Amadeus, Du PJSC UAE, Etisalat UAE, Huawei Technologies UAE & Oman, and Ooredoo Oman.

Ljubica Draskic is Head of Sales and Business Development at Smart CIC, with over 20 years of experience in the telecom industry and IT sector. She is responsible for sales in Europe, covering 28 countries including Russia and CIS, and Turkey. Prior to CITIC Telecom CPC, Ljubica worked as Regional Director for the entire CEE region at Interoute, as EMEA Director of technical support for Lucent Technologies and as European director for Huawei. Daniel Preiskel has chaired and is a regular speaker at prestigious international telecoms conferences and is on the Steering Committee of the MEF Privacy in Apps Programme that has attracted a fair amount of coverage in the press.
Daniel is a founder of the International MVNOx Association and former Vice-Chair of the IBA Communications Law Group. He is a member of and provides regulatory input to the following industry associations: ISPA, ITSPA, MEF and FCS. In addition, he and his team have advised the Spanish Chamber of Commerce and some of their member companies from a cross section of industries.
Previous experience includes working as an investment banker in Deutsche Morgan Grenfell’s telecoms team and heading telecoms and technology departments at two City law firms. Evgenija Bavink is a Senior Expert for Business Development in the Mobile Wholesale unit at Deutsche Telekom – Segment Europe. In this role, Evgenija is responsible for Deutsche Telekom´s Mobile Wholesale business in the European footprint together with the local teams. This includes developing and implementing growth opportunities with existing and potential partners.
Prior to joining the European Mobile Wholesale unit, Evgenija worked in multiple national and international Mobile Wholesale functions at Deutsche Telekom including process & product management just as strategy & business development. Robert Staniszewski is a graduate of the Faculty of Economic Sciences of Warsaw University where he studied International Economy and completed his studies with a major in economic sciences. Subsequently he completed doctoral studies at the Faculty of Economic Sciences of Warsaw University, obtaining a Ph.D. title in Economic Sciences. Until 2006 he worked as an Assistant Professor and lecturer at the Chair of International Economic Relations of Warsaw University’s Faculty of Economic Sciences.
He commenced with e-shelter in October 2011 and is responsible with his team for Carrier - Sales, Purchasing and Developments. Jens has an extensive amount of experience in International Sales having worked for euNetworks, Vanco, Sita S.C., Colt Telecom and Deutsche Telekom AG in Germany, and as Consultant in Madrid, Spain.
Jens holds a Telecommunication Engineering Degree which he obtained in Germany and has over 20 years’ experience working in the Telecommunication and Data Center Industry.
As Director, Sales – West Africa, Nikki is focussed on extending WIOCC’s footprint across West Africa. Nikki has been in the telecoms industry for almost 20 years and joined WIOCC in 2016 after eight years with Tata Communications, where she sold a wide range of Data services across numerous countries in Africa. Nikki also held managerial roles at Gateway Communications, where she established multiple interconnects with organisations such as Safaricom and Ethiopia Telecoms; and Cable & Wireless, for whom she sold services in sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East. Nikki is passionate about Africa and feels privileged to have seen and taken part in the technological advances that have occurred over the years. Ian is a telecommunication professional and has been working in the industry for 30 years. Prior to joining RealNetworks, Surash worked at mGage, the global mobile engagement provider, where he held roles of Chief Strategy officer as well as COO for Europe. Surash was also previously instrumental in helping Velti through its meteoric growth and NASDAQ listing. Ed McCormack has over forty years’ experience in International business, including over twenty years in the Submarine cable industry. He was Ciena’s General Manager of Submarine Systems from 2011 to 2016 and continues to consult for them today.
Prior to Ciena, he held a variety of both board and executive positions in FLAG Telecom and Reliance Communications, and also served as an Independent Non-Executive Director at Global Crossing UK Limited.
Pal has a MSC degree on Electrical Engineering from the Technical University of Budapest and an MBA degree from Budapest University of Economic Sciences. He worked for 10 years at Ericsson in various positions, including the Global Installation Engineering process owner position and also different marketing, and sales managerial positions. In 2012 he moved to the operators’ side, and worked for Vivendi Telecom Hungary, Invitel International, Pantel and finally Türk Telekom International. Pal has worked for TTI since the establishment of the company and was responsible for various sales assignments, then took the position of Procurement and Pricing Director and currently he is the Market Development Director. He has worked in this position for more than 4 years, being responsible for the TTI Group’s major development projects new submarine cable projects, high capacity multi-regional transit routes and overall supporting the establishment of new business partnerships.
