Carrier Community (CC), a global telecom club established in 2008 will organize its 4th annual CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) 2020 GCCM. Due to the current situation with the global pandemic, the dates has been moved and new dates will be published in the near future. More than 400+ Club Members representing decision-makers from the Tier-1, Tier-2, and Tier-3 from 40 plus countries meeting and networking annually in Almaty while conducting businesses during the CIS GCCM.
CC is bringing together members and Telco Eco-Partners from various segments such as Data, SMS, Voice, Mobile, OTT, VAS, Cable, Satellite, Data Centers and other related segments. Attendees meet, network with peers and explore new business opportunities, discuss latest market trends at the panel sessions and showcase their latest solutions. Members are using the online meeting portal to directly schedule individual peer to peer (P2P) meetings with attendees.
CC is also annualy organizing executive panel and knowledge sharing sessions to keep its members informed about the latest market trends in the region. CIS GCCM is the hub for telecom in the Silk Road region to meet and do business.

5 BEST THINGS TO SEE IN ALMATY
Ascension Cathedral – The eye-catching golden domes and kaleidoscopic color scheme of the Ascension Cathedral in Almaty, Kazakhstan, draw visitors to the city’s Panfilov Park, but the building’s genius architecture and complex history demand just as much attention. After nearly 40 years of deliberations, construction of Almaty’s Ascension Cathedral began in 1904, according to architect Constantin Arkadyevich Borisoglebsky’s design. However, as Borisoglebsky had left the city in 1902, it was regional engineer Andrei Pavlovich Zenkov who made addendums to Borisoglebsky’s plans and oversaw construction. As such, it’s commonly called the Zenkov Cathedral. Construction was completed in 1907. The cathedral is made out of wood but without nails. Its height is 56 meters tall and is claimed to be the second tallest wooden building in the world.

Ile-Alatau National Park – The Park was opened in 1996 and is an area located on the northern slopes of Zailiysky Alatau (“ meaning raised mountains”). The park occupies an area of about 200 thousand hectares stretching from Gorge Turgen in the east to the river Chemolgan in the west. The park is almost untouched by the advances of civilization and contains a wealth of differing habitats from woodlands to Alpine meadows, glaciers, and meltwater lakes.

Kazakh Museum of Folk Musical Instruments – The museum was named after the Great Kazakh musician of 19-20th centuries Ykylas, who promoted the purity of folk culture and preservation of various national instruments. Today, there are more than 1000 items of instruments in collection of the museum, which are divided into 60 types of Kazakh national musical instruments. The collection also includes instruments, which were owned by famous singers-improvisers and composers. The most ancient exhibits are dated back to the 17th century.

Koktobe Park – Kok Tobe is the highest point in the city of Almaty standing on an 1100 m hill at the south-east edge of the city. It is worth a visit to Kok Tobe because of its panoramic view of the city from all directions. To reach the Kok Tobe hill, one should take a cable car ride which starts near Hotel Kazakhstan and goes over some of the oldest parts of Almaty and the magnificent fruit growing gardens. Once you reach the Kok Tobe hill, you would see the famous 372 m high TV Tower which is visible from far and offers great views of the mountains and the city plus a few attractions at the top.

Chimbulak Ski Resort – The Shymbulak Ski Resort is located 25km outside Almaty city. There are three ski lifts at the resort with the highest going to 3200 meters above sea level. There is also a Hotel located at the Resort, enabling those wishing to ski during the day, have a place to stay at night. The resort is located in the upper part of the Medeu Valley in the Zaiilisky Alatau mountain range. It is popular for its mild climate, a large number of sunny days and a great amount of snow through the winter (from November till May).
